When you have a cat at home, I am sure you’ve heard him meow a lot. You’d probably say that - it is the way they communicate with their hoomans, but there’s a lot to it than meets the eye. Have you ever noticed that there is a difference in the meow that comes when your kitty is asking for food, it's something different when she’s angrily looking at something and is completely different he’s happy with something that you have - like your phone ringtone or the cat keychain that twinks? Oh yes! That’s exactly what I am talking about and will discuss in this blog. This blog will lay down 6 cat sounds and their meanings for your better understanding. 1. Just meow “Meow”, it clearly means that the kitty is saying hi to you and making sure that you notice her presence around you. This generally happens when your feline friend is quite happy to see you around and is in a good mood. So, she might just say hi to you and carry on doing what she was doing. 2. Many “just meows” When that just meow becomes meow meow meow meow, you should that the furball is very happy and excited. The reason can be that her stomach is full or she’s something very mischievous or even that she was trying to figure out something and succeeded. It also represents that she’s quite comfortable with you being around. For example, when you buy new cat costumes for her/him, if she wears it and goes with the many meows, you should know that she’s happy. 3. Mid-pitch meow This absolutely means your kiddo is very hungry. Hungry for food or attention, that you have to figure out, but this meow certainly means that she needs something. Whether you serve her cat food or play along with her, you need to understand that part. 4. Low-pitch meow Your cat is complaining to you about what happened to her or how ignorant you’ve been to her. Whether you’ve not been home for a while or she went out and something happened, cats make faces and lower their pitch while meowing to complain. 5. High-pitch meow This is definitely about the pain she’s going through. She’ll open her mouth and cry too hard to call upon you and tell you how difficult it is for her to handle the situation. Whether her stomach hurts because ingestion or she’s giving birth, this is how they’ll meow. 6. Hissing Hissing is a negative way to communicate in itself and when your cat does it, it has to be the way of telling that she’s pissed with something. Whether her cat toy has been snatched from her or you, her hooman have not been obedient enough, the hissing will let you know.
